Lush fair launched in January 2024, conducting an airdrop to our partner enqAI's community and seeding liquidity on Uniswap at a humble $1.5M FDV. Fair launch means no pre-launch insider sales, VC private deals, or free tokens for KOLs. Since then, we've grown organically and bootstrapped the protocol to where it is today, with multiple product offerings that generate revenue via Web2 monetization (not just Web3). This is important because the Web2 economy is orders of magnitudes greater than Web3. Having a product/service that taps into the Web2 economy positions Lush as 1 of the few protocols that can decouple from and thrive in the next crypto winter.
Engineering and design come first; everything else is downstream. Our vision since Day 1 has always been to build exceptional revenue generating products & services that can thrive in both crypto bull and bear markets, by targeting the much larger Web2 economy and ultimately bridging that value to the Web3 world.
Crypto serves as an alternative financial system for allocating capital. We do not subscribe to the notion of pre-launch private rounds for a select few with special privileges that ultimately get marked up 10-50x to the general public. The proper way to build a robust community is to allow access at the earliest stages for all market participants. This means a liquid token from the onset and not being afraid to have free market forces dictate its value.
Every single advisor and KOL that we have onboarded has put their own skin in the game by buying our token with vesting - this is the best way to align long-term interests. We've found that if the thesis, product, and execution is solid, smart money has no problem with this kind of arrangement.
